Allah is the Real Guardian
Waking Up to a Cold Sweat
In the middle of the night, Hasanah woke up in a cold sweat. She had a nightmare about driving with her parents when strong waves from the sea swept them all away. Feeling frightened, she quickly got out of bed and went to her parents’ room. She woke them up by turning on the light and calling for her mother and father.

Allah the Only Guardian
Hasanah’s parents looked confused when they saw her. They then asked her what had happened, but she did not answer and instead hugged her mother tightly and cried. After she had calmed down, Hasanah told her parents about her nightmare. She said that she felt very scared when she woke up. So, her mother asked her to put up her hands and pray to Allah to keep her parents safe. Her mother explained that in any natural disaster, only Allah the Guardian would be able to protect us from harm because Allah was the one who tested us with natural disasters. Only Allah the Guardian knew the hikmah behind the natural disaster. Allah created natural disasters to make us seek Him as our Guardian.

The Commotion
It was the December school holiday, and Hasanah and her parents were off to the beach for a picnic. Hasanah was very happy to go to the beach. She sang along happily while her father was driving the car. She was so excited that she kept asking her father whether they were getting nearer to the beach. Suddenly, they were surprised by the heavy traffic on the road. Hasanah and her parents were shocked to see many people running around and stepping out of their vehicles.

A Wave is Coming
After a while questioning about what has happened, Hasanah pointed to the waves that are coming their way. Hasanah shouted frantically at her parents. At the sight of the humongous waves coming their way, Hasanah’s father asks Hasanah and her mother to get out of their car. He then pulled Hasanah and her mom’s hands, and they all run to the nearest mosque to shelter from the waves. As they went on, they saw ruined houses along the road. They were terrified.

Safe in the Mosque
There were people inside the mosque. Hasanah was afraid for their safety as the waves swept over the building, and she was also worried that the mosque would be destroyed like the nearby houses. However, they braced themselves together and held on tightly to the pillars in the mosque.
Deep in her heart, she remembered the nightmare she had and what her mother had taught her about Allah the Guardian. She silently prayed to Allah the Guardian to save them all from the disaster.
The waves reached them and covered them all with a huge splash, and the people held on tightly to the pillars of the mosque. There were many people who were swung by the waves until everything finally became still.

The Mighty Mosque
“Alhamdulillah!” Hasanah shouted to her mother as she hugged both her parents. They were all wet because of the huge waves. Outside the mosque, they saw people running to check on their homes and belongings, many of which had been destroyed.
Hasanah and her parents noticed that the waves had destroyed buildings and houses, except for the mosque. People were amazed that the mosque was still standing after the waves had struck it. They also saw people who had lost their lives on the ground. They felt a deep sense of relief and gratitude to Allah for protecting the mosque and everyone inside from the disaster.
